Description GU Ferco 28mm 3 Deadbolt Multipoint Door Lock is used when an existing three-bolt GU Ferco mechanism has failed and no longer aligns correctly in the door. The 28mm backset positions the spindle and cylinder closer to the door edge, which is typical on slimmer uPVC, composite, and some timber doors. When the handle is lifted, three deadbolts project into their keeps to secure the door evenly along its frame. Once lifted, the euro cylinder allows you to secure the lock with a key. The strip runs the full 2285mm length of the door edge and is finished with a 16mm square end faceplate that suits standard square-ended preparations. At its centre sits the main lock case, housing the latch and primary deadbolt which is aligned on 92mm PZ centres. From this centre point, one additional deadbolt is positioned 570mm above and another 660mm below. The distance between the two outer deadbolts is 1230mm. This maintains the original spread of locking points in the door. Inside the door, the 28mm backset places the follower and cylinder position correctly in relation to the door edge. The single spindle arrangement connects the handle directly to the lift-lever, allowing the handle to raise all three deadbolts before the key secures the lock through the euro cylinder. With a latch and deadbolt in the centre case and two further deadbolts along the strip, this lock provides ample security. Its extendable design means the strip can be length-adjusted to suit different door heights. We recommend periodical maintenance to reduce wear and tear. Avoid heavy grease as it will overload the mechanism making it sluggish and difficult to operate. The Fixings along the 16mm faceplate should also be checked to keep the strip tight to the door edge and prevent movement that can affect alignment.
