Description GU Ferco 45mm 2 Rhino Hook 20mm Square End Faceplate Multipoint Door Lock is used on composite and timber doors where a stronger hook-based locking mechanism is required. The lock is engaged by lifting the lever handle that projects two Rhino hooks along with the central deadbolt before it is securely locked with a key. And with a 45mm backset and 92mm PZ centres, it is made to suit doors designed around this wider gearbox position. Visually, the GU Ferco has a 20mm wide square end faceplate that runs through the full 2100mm length of the strip. It also has a central lock that houses the latch and deadbolt, with hooks positioned above and below the gearbox for balanced security. The wider faceplate gives it a more substantial edge compared with the 16mm uPVC variants. Once installed, the strip sits neatly within the door edge without needing any alterations. The GU Ferco also has a Hook-to-hook measurement of 1395mm, with the top hook set at 735mm from the centre and the bottom hook 660mm from the centre. This lock is not extendable, meaning the overall length and fixing positions must match the existing lock. Operated through a lift lever, The GU Ferco uses a euro cylinder and a split spindle, allowing the external handle to remain disengaged until the key is inserted. Maintenance should also include periodic lubrication of the gearbox, hooks, and latch. Hooks should also be checked to confirm full projection when the handle is lifted. The 20mm faceplate should be kept clean along its length to prevent debris affecting operation. Avoid using heavy grease as it can attract dirt and resist the moving part from working correctly.
