Description The Era Slave Lock is intended for the fixed or secondary leaf of a pair of French doors where a primary multipoint lock is already fitted to the main door. It provides secure top and bottom engagement by operating shoot bolts that secure the passive leaf into the frame. Unlike a standard multipoint lock, it does not include additional locking points along the faceplate. This configuration allows it to act as a direct replacement unit where existing shoot bolts and keeps are already installed. The lock features a 16mm square-end faceplate that suits common uPVC and composite door preparations. Its central lock case layout aligns with standard handle and cylinder positions. When fitted, it maintains a clean and consistent appearance alongside the primary door lock. The design integrates discreetly within timber, composite or uPVC door profiles. A 35mm backset and 92mm PZ centre ensure compatibility with widely used euro profile cylinders and door handles. The mechanism operates on a lift lever system with a single spindle, allowing handle access from both sides until the door is locked. Lifting the handle engages the shoot bolts into the frame. Turning the key then deadlocks the mechanism. To unlock, the key is turned first before pushing the handle down to withdraw the shoot bolts. The 1810mm overall length can be reduced during installation for an accurate fit. This ERA lock is supplied as a box-only unit and is designed to reuse existing shoot bolts and keeps where present. It is compatible with uPVC, composite and timber French doors. For improved security during replacement, it can be paired with a high-security 3-star euro cylinder to increase resistance against snapping, drilling and picking. Regular lubrication of the internal gearboxes using GT85 helps maintain smooth handle lift and extends the service life of the lock, particularly on frequently operated doors.
